Madhupalli is surrounded by the house of the midwife Michael Madhusudan Dutta. Michael Madhusudan Dutta was born on January 25, 1824, in the house. His progenitor, Ramkishore Datta, was a resident of Gopalpur village in Tala Upazila of Khulna district. His grandfather, Ramnithi Dutta, came with his younger brothers to his home in Sagardari.

On October 26, 1965, the then government declared the house as an antiquity. Madhusudan Museum has been established at home with some furniture and other memorials used by Madhusudan's family. Libraries have been set up.

From April to September - From 10am to 6pm and from October to March - From 9am to 5pm, Madhupalli is open. Friday break from 12:30 to 2:30. Madhupalli's weekly holiday is Sunday. Other government holidays are also closed on the day.
